Systems Integration Services

No matter the size of the organization, one of the most frustrating issues is having similar information stored in multiple places. It’s a big risk for growing businesses. Why?

  1. It’s inefficient. If someone has to key data into systems more than once, the error rate goes up and it is time consuming. The bigger an organization gets, the more the risk of incorrect data increases.
  2. When the same data is in multiple places, it gets out of sync. If you are telling yourself this doesn’t happen in your company, ask someone to compare the two (or more) systems and see what you get. We refer to this as a lack of data integrity.
  3. Integrating your numerous systems brings transparency, timeliness, simplicity and cohesion to your work flow.
As an example consider how many places do you have employee information? If a new employee is hired you need to record his/her information in
  • HR System to keep job info / history
  • Payroll System to create payslip
  • Active Directory to create new account to be able to access company IT network and servers
  • Access Control System to  issue new Access Card based on his job role / location
  • Attendance System to keep time sheets
  • Medical System to keep medical history
  • Others......
Now consider if employee leaves the company, how to ensure that all systems have been updated?

We integrate multiple systems doing different functions to work together in harmony such that they are seen by customer as one system having one data source. for the above example, when integrating business applications related to employees new employee info should be entered once and all those system should have employees data in their databases without need for data entry or human intervention

As a real example, one of our customers had a new building and requested to have security solution covering Access Control, online alarm monitoring and employees attendance. Also customer had remote sites to be included in attendance system.

Customer requirement included

  • Access Control System should monitor secured zones status and alert security guards immediately if security breach occurred showing alarm location on building floor plans
  • Attendance system should enable employees to register in / out transaction type (mission, vacation, hospital, etc…)
  • In central site employees should use contactless access cards to get into the building or enter secured zone and use same card to stamp attendance In / Out
  • In remote sites employees should register their attendance using fingerprint only, system should automatically identify employee without need to enter employee ID manually or use access card to identify employee
  • Attendance system should be integrated with payroll system such that attendance transactions should be saved automatically in payroll system database
  • Employee shall have a daily meal in building cafeteria, meals list should be uploaded to payroll system to be deducted from employee monthly pay

We could not find a single system from single manufacturer that satisfy all customer requirements, we had to build a solution from multiple manufacturers and we developed integration modules to exchange data between subsystems and supply customer applications with unified data stream, following diagram shows solution subsystems and how they were integrated together such that customer have seen them as one complete system
